Joe Nemechek is gearing up for the 2009 NASCAR season. The driver and owner of NEMCO Motorsports said that he is planning to run the full Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series schedule, beginning with next month’s season openers at Daytona. Nemechek will drive the #87 Toyota in the Cup Series and the #87 Chevy in the Nationwide races. Veteran crew chief Philippe Lopez has joined NEMCO Motorsports and will oversee the competition side in both series.(DMF Communications/NEMCO PR)(1-23-2009)
UPDATE: Nemechek bought a few Toyota chassis from Red Bull Racing. He contracted Triad Racing Technologies, formerly Bill Davis Racing, to supply engines, and he hired veteran crew chief Phillipe Lopez to make sure things get done.
