Danny O’Quinn leaves #0 team:

J-D Motorsports’ owner Johnny Davis was informed by Danny O’Quinn, Jr. after the race at Bristol Saturday night that he was quitting the team. “This came a quite a shock to me, said Johnny Davis. Danny was consistently moving up in the driver points and we had based our business plan around Danny for the rest of this year.” The J-D Motorsports team has fielded three cars at many races this year. Johnny and Lori Davis are rethinking just what they will do to replace the driver. The #01 Chevy remains solidly in the top 30 in owner points. The team had invested considerably in the #01 and will continue to do so. “Our program has flourished in a very lean year for independent teams. We have stepped-up every aspect of our operation. We have approached sponsor acquisition with a zest that is beginning to produce results. I don’t know what tomorrow will bring, but we will move on and grow this business. We will consider all of our options,” said team owner Davis.(J-D Motorsports PR)(8-22-2009)
