Kyle Busch won the Coors Light Pole Award for the 17th Annual NRA 500 with a track-record lap of 27.509 seconds, 196.299 mph. This is his 12th pole in 300 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races. This is his second pole and fifth top-10 start in 2013. This is his first pole in 16 races at Texas Motor Speedway. Kurt Busch (second) posted his second top-10 start of 2013 and his seventh in 21 races at Texas Motor Speedway. This is the second time the Busch brothers have started 1-2.
