While Halloween is around the corner, Charlotte Motor Speedway is already prepping for a Christmas light show extravaganza like no other. Speedway Christmas returns Nov. 19 with three million lights totaling a record 3.75 miles around the speedway, infield and concourse that will illuminate the iconic race track with Christmas-related staples including Santa Claus and Frosty the Snowman. Building on the fan-friendly holiday atmosphere, this year’s Speedway Christmas – which runs until Dec. 31 but is closed on Christmas Day – will also feature an infield Christmas village with a petting zoo, Bethlehem village, horse-drawn wagon rides and photos with Santa. Additionally, fans can sit in their cars and cozy up to Movie Nights on the giant Speedway TV every Thursday-Sunday, with classic Christmas films including ‘A Christmas Story’ and ‘Frozen’ among those scheduled to air. The first day of Speedway Christmas coincides with the Egg Nog Jog 5K, a high-energy fun run to kick off the holiday festivities. Fans can buy tickets to Speedway Christmas, which start at just $20, by calling 1-800-455-FANS (3267), or visiting charlottemotorspeedway.com/tickets/.(CMS)(10-29-2016)
