Layne Riggs delivers a masterclass with last-lap pass for Truck Series victory at Nashville: Layne Riggs set the pace early in Friday night’s rain-delayed NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Nashville Superspeedway then rallied to a dramatic final lap pass when it mattered most to claim the track’s iconic “Victory Guitar” trophy in the Allegiance 200.(Read More)(5-30-2026)
#34-Layne Riggs pulled off a stellar comeback to win the Allegiance 200 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race at Nashville Superspeedway Friday night. The win is his first at Nashville, third of the season, and the eighth truck win of his career.
Riggs started from the pole after rain forced the field to be set by the rulebook. He dominated early and swept the first two stages, but varying pit strategy on lap 99 dropped him in the running.
A caution flag fell on lap 120 after #11-Kaden Honeycutt stopped at the entrance of pitroad with a battery issue. Riggs took advantage of the yellow and made another stop for an adjustment and fresh tires.
The final caution flag of the night fell on lap 130, lining the field up for a restart with just over 15 laps remaining in the race.
Defending race winner #7-Rajah Caruth was behind the wheel of the Spire Motorsports Chevrolet, a race originally scheduled for the late Kyle Busch. Caruth was one of four teams that opted for track position following the stage two caution flag. He held his own and led 44 laps before Riggs charged back with fresher tires as they battled for the race win.
The two made contact on the white flag lap, with Riggs prevailing as he drove by in the high lane.
#38-Chandler Smith was third, followed by #45-Ross Chastain, #18-Tyler Ankrum, #52-Stewart Friesen, #9-Grant Enfinger, #91-Christian Eckes, #17-Gio Ruggiero and #20-Daniel Dye in the top-10.
There were five lead changes among three drivers and eight caution flags for 48 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 99.958mph.
