Kyle Larson subs for Connor Zilisch at Texas, wins in double overtime: Crew chief Mardy Lindley called his shot. “We’ve got to stop to win,” Lindley radioed to driver Kyle Larson, subbing for injured Connor Zilisch in the No. 88 JR Motorsports Chevrolet. In a caution-filled, double overtime Xfinity Series race, #88-Kyle Larson won the Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 at Texas Motor Speedway. Larson, filling in for an injured Connor Zilisch, needed to make a pass from the outside lane in the second overtime to score the win. It is his second victory in three starts this season.
#54-Taylor Gray escaped the carnage to finish a career-best second. #19-Riley Herbst made a late rally to third. Stage 2 winner #21-Austin Hill placed fourth, with #41-Sam Mayer dropping four spots in double overtime to round out the top five.
#25-Harrison Burton finished sixth, as #2-Jesse Love, #39-Ryan Sieg, #20-Brandon Jones and #27-Jeb Burton completing the top 10.
#7-Justin Allgaier led a race-high 99 laps and won the opening stage, but was involved in a wreck during the final stage and finished 35th.
There were 12 lead changes among six drivers and 11 cautions for 62 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 106.424 mph.

Lap 208: #88-Larson wins at Texas. #54-Gray, #19-Herbst, #21-Hill and #41-Mayer round out the top five. #25-Burton, #2-Love, #39-Sieg, #20-Jones and #27-Burton complete the top 10.
Lap 206: #88-Larson clears for the race lead. #48-Sanchez got into the outside wall off Turn 2.
Lap 200: #41-Mayer gets pushes out to the lead from #21-Hill. #88-larson slides into second. #51-Clements backs into the Turn 2 wall to bring out the caution for a second overtime.
Lap 195: #21-Hill gets loose off Turn 4 and gets into the rear of #8-Smith and turns him into the outside wall. #51-Clements got into the wall on the backstretch.

Lap 84: #21-Hill is reporting a vibration with the brakes, which has allowed #7-Allgaier to close the gap with the stage winding down.
Lap 72: #21-Hill has caught lapped traffic. #7-Allgaier rides behind Hill but hasn’t been able to gather a run big enough to pass for the lead.
Lap 59: #7-Allgaier marches forward, driving past #00-Creed for second position.

Lap 48: #16-Eckes has been pushed to the garage with a mechanical issues. Kaulig Racing believes the engine blew.
Lap 45: #7-Allgaier wins Stage 1, his fourth stage victory of the season. #88-Larson, #48-Sanchez, #21-Hill, #41-Mayer, #00-Creed, #39-Sieg, #20-Jones, #27-Burton and #42-Alfredo earn stage points.
Lap 38: #88-Larson has chipped into the lead of #7-Allgaier by more than a second since taking the runner-up spot. Allgaier leads by 1.5 seconds with seven laps remaining in the stage.
Lap 30: #48-Sanchez passes #00-Creed for second and is among the fastest cars on the track. #88-Larson is closing in on #21-Hill for fourth spot.
Lap 26: #7-Allgaier maintains the lead on the restart. #21-Hill slipped in Turns 1 and 2, allowing #00-Creed to get by for second and #48-Sanchez slides in third. #88-Larson charged to sixth.

Lap 21: #91-Bilicki spins off  the nose of #70-Honeyman through Turn 4 and gets into the infield grass to bring out the caution.

Lap 12: #7-Allgaier clears for the lead. #21-Hill settles in second, with #2-Love, #00-Creed and #27-Burton in the top five.
Lap 9: #8-Smith pits for repairs to the hood. #16-Eckes makes another trip to pit road for repairs from the opening lap caution. #26-Thompson is also on pit road.
Lap 7: #10-Dye clips the grass through the dog leg on the restart, throwing mud on the track. #07-Leitz misses a shift and clips the mud, with #8-Smith getting into the rear of #70-Honeyman and turning him into Leitz.
Lap 4: #16-Eckes pits under caution to repair a hole in the right-front fender after contact with #71-Ellis on the opening lap.
Lap 1: #7-Allgaier makes a power move around the outside lane to take the lead on the restart. #71-Ellis was caught in the middle of a three-wide battle and was clipped by #16-Eckes. Ellis spun through Turns 3 and 4. #91-Bilicki also went for a spin off Turn 4.

With a heavy rain soaking the track throughout the day, practice for Saturday’s Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 Xfinity Series race at Texas Motor Speedway has been canceled. NASCAR is drying the track, hoping to get qualify in. The majority of the track is dry, with some weepers around the facility.
