NASCAR told drivers Saturday that the way the final restart unfolded in the Nationwide Series race Friday night at Chicagoland Speedway was proper. There was some confusion when #22-Brad Keselowski ran out of gas while running second one lap prior to the restart for a green-white-checkered finish. He dropped out of the outside line, and #18-Kyle Busch, running fourth, moved up into his position next to leader Joey Logano. There was some question whether David Reutimann, who was running third, should have gotten to move to the outside line next to the leader since he was third. “If somebody drops out in either row, just pull straight up,” NASCAR race director David Hoots told drivers during the prerace drivers meeting prior to the Sprint Cup LifeLock.com 400. “We won’t try to criss-cross you with one to go. If you help us with that, we’ll get the race restarted nice and smoothly. We’ll just pull both rows straight forward.”(Scene Daily)(7-10-2010)
