LVMS names infield care center in honor of Dr. Dale Carrison:

Las Vegas Motor Speedway has announced it is naming its infield care center the Carrison Care Center in honor of longtime LVMS Medical Director Dr. Dale Carrison. The speedway’s medical director since it began operating in 1996, Carrison is one of the most accomplished and decorated doctors in Nevada. He currently serves as the Las Vegas Regional Medical Director and Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at University Medical Center of Southern Nevada and is also the professor and chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine for the University of Nevada School of Medicine. A Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, Carrison has been instrumental in the evolution and development of the LVMS medical program. He and his staff have been dedicated to providing injured racers with the best medical care for years, and Carrison has helped LVMS’s medical program and care center become elite. Carrison’s extensive medical background includes being the medical director for the Clark County Fire Department, Mercy Air Aeromedical Transport in Clark County and the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners, as well as serving as a tactical physician for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s SWAT Team. An FBI agent before he became a doctor, Carrison also was appointed by the Governor of Nevada to serve as chairman of the Nevada Homeland Security Commission.(LVMS)(3-5-2016)
