#97-Shane Van Gisbergen won the Toyota / Save Mart 350 NASCAR Cup Series race at Sonoma Raceway. The win is his second win of the year, second at Sonoma and eighth career win.
#19-Chase Briscoe finished 2nd followed by pole winner #54-Ty Gibbs, #5-Kyle Larson, #20-Christopher Bell, #12-Ryan Blaney, #88-Connor Zilisch, #60-Ryan Preece, #71-Michael McDowell, and #48-Alex Bowman.
van Gisbergen started the race in sixth and stayed near the front of the field all day. He flipped the stages by pitting just before the end of the first two. He took the lead for the final time with 22 laps remaining and held off several hard charges by Briscoe to win by just .3 second.
Stages 1 & 2 were both won by #54-Ty Gibbs.

Checkered flag for SVG, his second win of the season.
White flag for SVG.  He leads Briscoe by .56 second.
Lap 109 – Two laps to go. SVG ahead of Briscoe by .87 second. Gibbs is 4.5 seconds back.
Lap 108 – SVG’s lead extends to 1.2 second after Briscoe drove deep in turn one on the last lap.
Lap 107 – Briscoe now within a half second of SVG for the lead. Gibbs moves around Larson for third. Bell is fifth.
Lap 106 – Five to go. SVG by 1.2 second.
Lap 105 – Six laps remaining. SVG ahead of Briscoe by 1 second, Larson by 5.5 second. TDillon and Hill have now lost a lap.
Lap 103 – Hamlin has moved to 28th. He’s one point behind Reddick in the standings, as they run.
Lap 101 – Ten laps remaining. Briscoe is now just .74 second behind SVG for the lead. Larson is 5.1 seconds back.

Lap 94 – Larson moves around Zilisch for third, 5.9 seconds out of the lead.
Lap 91 – With 20 laps remaining, SVG’s lead is down to 1.1 second over Briscoe.
Lap 89 – Chastain pits and SVG retakes the lead with 22 laps remaining. He leads Briscoe by 1.6 seconds and Zilisch by 4.8 seconds.
Lap 88 – Bryon pits. Chastain now the leader. He is the only driver that has not pitted. SVG is second.
Lap 87 – Larson Gibbs Blaney Hocevar all pit. Byron now the leader.
Lap 86 – Bell pits.

Lap 84 – SVG on pit road. Blaney takes the lead. 27 to go. SVG comes out of the pits ahead of Briscoe.
Lap 83 – SVG stays out. Briscoe and Zilisch come to pit road. Zilisch slow getting out of the box as the car stalls. Briscoe off pit road ahead of him.
Lap 81 – Elliott pits, as do Logano Custer Bowman Cindric and others.
Lap 78 – SVG’s lead over Briscoe is 1.8 second. Then Zilisch 2.5 seconds back. Pit stops likely coming in the next 7-8 laps.
Lap 72 – After his spin, Hamlin is stuck in 34th position and has splitter damage. Reddick now back in the points lead by 6.
Lap 71 – SVG Briscoe Zilisch Blaney Larson. Forty laps remaining. Everyone is now in the fuel window but will want to wait to pit to save tires for the end.
Lap 66 – Elliott spins but continues. Then a spin by Nemechek.
Lap 65 – Briscoe to second behind SVG.
Lap 64 – Back to green with 47 lap to go. Hamlin spins in turn 7 but everyone gets around him and he continues. In turn 11, Gilliland gets turned around.
Lap 61 – CAUTION is out for an accident involving Berry Gragson Cindric Wallace. Everyone is able to continue on. Reddick gets another lap back.
Lap 60 – Green flag with 51 laps remaining in the race. SVG Zilisch Briscoe Blaney Larson the top 5. Everyone will need to pit during the final stage.
Lap 57 – Pit road is open. Drivers that have not pitted are in. Off pit road: Gibbs Allmendinger Cindric Jones Smith Bell Wallace. SVG retakes the lead.
Lap 56 – CAUTION for the end of stage 2. Gibbs the leader over Bell Allmendinger Cindric Chastain Smith SVG Zilisch Briscoe and Blaney. Reddick is the free pass, but will still be five laps down. Everyone else is still on the lead lap.
Lap 54 – SVG Blaney and Zilisch pit before pit road closes. Gibbs retakes the lead.
Lap 53 – Several more drivers pitting, including Hamlin, Elliott Nemechek Larson Briscoe and others.
Lap 52 – McDowell pits.
Lap 51 – SVG with an 8.4 second lead over now second place Blaney. Zilisch up to third, then Briscoe and Larson. Expect a few pit stops in the next three laps before pit road closes.
Lap 49 – Seven laps remaining in stage 2. SVG Briscoe Blaney Zilisch Larson the top 5.
Lap 44 – Briscoe takes second place from Larson. He’s 3.2 seconds out of the lead. Wallace got off track again but continues.  Herbst was also off track.
Lap 43 – With a solid finish today, Hamlin will take over the points lead. Reddick has led all year, but is currently 24 points behind Hamlin as they run.
Lap 42 – SVG has pulled out to a 1.9 second lead over Larson.
Lap 39 – Wallace got off track but didn’t hit anything. No caution. He drops to 22nd.
Lap 37 – Reddick is now 6 laps down. At the stage break the team will decide if they need to go behind the wall for repairs or continue on.
Lap 35 – Still a pretty clean race overall. SVG leads Larson by .5 second. Then Briscoe Blaney  and Byron. Blaney says his cool suit is not operating.
Lap 30 – Green flag for the start of the second stage. Reddick starts 36th, four laps down, as the team was looking at the car under caution. They have not solved his issues.
Lap 29 – On the restart it will be: SVG Larson Briscoe Hamlin Blaney Byron Elliott Zilisch Logano Chastain.
Lap 27 – Pit road is open. Drivers that had not pitted are in. Off pit road: Gibbs Bell Hocevar McDowell Preece Bowman Jones Herbst. Jones was too fast on pit road.
Lap 26 – CAUTION out for the end of stage 1: Gibbs Bell McDowell Hocevar Preece Bowman SVG Jones Larson Herbst.
Lap 23 – SVG pits along with Larson Briscoe and Hamlin. Reddick complaining of a possible power steering issue.
Lap 15 – SVG now up to second. Allmendinger reporting he may have something broken.
Lap 11 – The lead for Gibbs is up to 1.2 second over McDowell.  Then SVG Larson Allmendinger Chastain Briscoe Hamlin Bell and Hocevar.
Lap 6 – With five laps complete, Gibbs is still the leader. McDowell remains second. SVG up to third, 2.8 seconds back. Hocevar has fallen to 8th.
Lap 3 – Gibbs still leads. Then McDowell Larson SVG and Hocevar.
Lap 2 – Gibbs leads the first lap. McDowell to second.

• NASCAR says 8:25pm/pt is the adverse conditions time where the race will end if not otherwise finished. That shouldn’t be an issue.

• 2:10pm/et – In addition to Wallace, Gragson and Jones will also drop to the rear for unapproved adjustments.
• Wallace is the only driver going to the rear that we know of at this point.  The team will repair the car he wrecked during qualifying.
