Corey Heim wins Truck Series opener at Daytona after Parker Kligerman DQ: When the caution flag flew on the final lap of Friday night’s Fresh from Florida 250 at Daytona International Speedway, Corey Heim thought he had finished second in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series season opener. Roughly an hour later, Heim was declared the winner of the superspeedway race after the No. 75 Chevrolet of apparent winner Parker Kligerman was disqualified when its ride height was measured as too low.(Read More)(2-14-2025)

#11-Corey Heim won the season-opening Fresh from Florida 250 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race at Daytona International Speedway Friday night after the truck of anticipated winner #75-Parker Kligerman failed post-race inspection. His truck was found to be too low. The win was Heim’s first at Daytona and the 12th win of his career.
Heim was in position at the end of the race as a yellow flag waved following a last lap crash on the backstretch. While jockeying for position in the draft, many contenders, including pole-sitter #99-Ben Rhodes

He was in the thick of the battle for the lead on the last lap but ended the race 21st.
#88-Matt Crafton won stage two and led nine laps, eight more than he led in all of the 2024 season. Crafton was also caught up in the last lap wreck.
Rookie #17-Gio Ruggiero finished an impressive second behind his TRICON Garage teammate Heim. He led 11 laps in his debut.
Reigning series champion #98-Ty Majeski was third.
#9-Grant Enfinger, #7-Justin Haley, #38-Chandler Smith, #19-Daniel Hemric, #22-Jason White, #1-William Sawalich, and #33-Frankie Muniz were the remainder of the top-10.
There were 30 lead changes among 12 drivers and eight caution flags for 33 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 116.174 mph.

Race Updates:
UPDATE: Kligerman’s truck failed post race inspection and was found too low in the rear. Heim is declared the winner.
Lap 100: Kligerman gets the win as the race ends under yellow as a multi-truck wreck breaks out on the backstretch. Jockeying for position coming to the line, can’t say it’s a surprise. Sauter, Majeski, Rhodes, Briedinger, Riggs just some of those collected.
Following Kligerman across the line: Heim, Ruggiero, Majeski, Enfinger, Haley, Smith, Hemric, White, Sawalich.
Lap 99: Kligerman is riding the high lane and Rhodes on the inside.
Lap 97: 3 to go Rhodes leads Kligerman, Riggs and Gray. Riggs is locked up with Rhodes on the inside. Kligerman is riding the high lane with Gray. Ruggiero trying to make a third lane in the middle with no help.
Lap 93: Smith drops back after losing help from teammate Riggs, who has some damage.
Lap 90: 10 to go. Toyotas have taken the top 4 spots. Ruggiero, Gray, Sawalich and Heim.Gray led the string on the backstretch to steam to the lead.
Lap 89: Restart as Smith leads.
Lap 84: CAUTION Big wreck. Wood, Crafton, Caruth, McDowell, Rhodes, Breidinger among those with damage. Appeared to begin further up in the field with some checking up. Smith continues to lead Riggs and Gray.
Lap 79: 4-wide with Crafton, Enfinger involved. Chandler Smith leads his teammate Riggs as they stay locked up in the inside lane.
Lap 76: Restart as rookie Ruggiero leads Caruth.
Lap 72: A lot of pitstops happening under this yellow. Many fuel top-offs, but Rhodes swaps out the tires.
Lap 70: CAUTION Greenfield breaks lose and slams the inside wall. Heavy damage. Smith leads Rhodes, McDowell, Riggs, Sauter, Garcia, Crafton, Majeski, White and Sutton. 8 of the top-10 trucks are Forrds, 2 Chevys. Toyots are 16-19th, all TRICON trucks.
Lap 67: Green flag pitstops going on. Manufacturers seem to be pitting together. Enfinger too fast entering.
Lap 55: Back to green as Smith leads Hemric, Kligerman. Some trucks pit to top off prior to the restart.
Lap 50: CAUTION Sutton and Ankrum. Ankrum’s engine drops fluid and Sutton spins in it. Smith leads Riggs, Hemric, Enfinger, Heim. 50 laps to go.
Lap 45: Crafton pits under the yellow as t he field readies to go green. Crew chief Hankish says it’s different strategy. Hemric leads.
Lap 40: Crafton with the stage 2 win. Ford takes 4 of the top-5 spots, 3 of them ThorSport trucks. Crafton, Rhodes, Majeski, Smith, Wood, Friesen, Hemric, Heim, Kligerman.
Lap 35: Stage 2 is winding down with the two lanes now fronted by Crafton and Riggs. Slower truck of Benning obliterates a third lane as the field moves around him.
Lap 30: Enfinger and Rhodes in the battle of the lanes for the lead. Rhodes, who pit with his hood up under the stage caution, has worked his way to the front without issue. 3 lanes now, with just a few takes in the middle lane.
Lap 24: Hemric, Haley, Wood stay out, now listed as the leaders. Pole-sitter and stage 1 winner Rhodes back on pitroad with the hood up.
Lap 22: Rhodes, Sauter, Enfinger, among those to pit under the yellow.
Lap 20: Rhodes wins stage 1. Sauter, Enfinger, Smith, Gray, Majeski, Perez, Hemric and Ruggiero
Lap 19: 1 lap to go at the restart for stage 1 completion.
Lap 15: CAUTION Breidinger gets loose and spins down track. Enfinger leads Rhodes Sauter, Gray, Smith, Perez, Majeski, Heim, Riggs, Sutton.
Lap 10: Back to green as pole-sitter Rhodes leads them to the line. Gray, Sauter, Perez, Enfinger follow. Halfway in stage 1.
Lap 7: A number of trucks pit, including Crafton. Crew members go under the hood and inside the truck. Mosack has joined the race.
Lap 4: CAUTION Honeycutt was leading, wrecks with heavy front end damage. Broke loose and shot down track into the inside wall.
Lap 1: Pole-sitter Rhodes leads the first lap. 2 distinct lanes with Rhodes using both. Some contact for Greenfield who shoots down the apron. Keeps going.
7:53pm/et: Green flag. – Mosack in the garage for the start for a transmission issue. His truck was locked in reverse.

#99-Ben Rhodes won the pole for the season-opening Fresh from Florida 250 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race at Daytona International Speedway with a speed of 176.488 mph for his first pole of the season, first at Daytona, and the sixth pole of his career.
#98-Ty Majeski will start second, followed by #11-Corey Heim, #9-Grant Enfinger, #13-Jake Garcia, #38-Chandler Smith, #26-Dawson Sutton, #45-Kaden Honeycutt, #95-Clay Greenfield, and #66-Johnny Sauter in the top-10.
Did not qualify: #28-Bryan Dauzat and #90-Justin Carroll.
#18-Tyler Ankrum’s time was disallowed for failing to do a brake check before taking to the track for his qualifying lap and #52-Stewart Friesen was not allowed to attempt a lap after failing to have his track bar properly sealed.

Goodyear Tire Notes: Being on 15-inch bead diameter tires, Xfinity and Craftsman Truck Series teams will run a different tire set-up than those in the Cup Series at Daytona this week . . . this is the same combination of left- and right-side tires these teams have run at both Daytona and Talladega since the beginning of 2022.
